From the Carolinas to the shores of Maine, a brutal late winter snowstorm has paralyzed much of the Eastern Seaboard and has been blamed for deaths on slick roads.
Hundreds of flights have been canceled along the East Coast, starting Sunday night and continuing into this morning, including more than 100 flights at Boston's Logan International Airport. Hundreds more flights were canceled at the New York region's three major airports, said Jennifer Friedberg, a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Here are some videos earlier today near the ABC News Headquarters in New York City:

Peter Martinez completed ABC NEWS' first ever digital media fellowship last summer at ABC NEWS Headquarters in New York.
ABC News provided an in-depth and hands-on weeklong training seminar in the Digital Bullpen. It introduced him to the ABC News network news flow including software programs like Avid iNews, Instinct, Newscutter, Xpress Pro, and Media Manager / UNITY. By the end of the week, each of the four fellowship students produced a video. Take a look:
Here's some of the other projects Martinez worked on:
ABC NEWS NOW: Former reporter/producer, David Puente, allowed me to use my camera skills and field producing experience for his show EXCLUSIVA (Hispanic news in English). I've also contributed to What's the Buzz, Parenting Perspectives, and Faith Matters. Mostly I went out with a camera and did "man on the street" interviews and BROLL footage used in the following videos:EXCLUSIVARunning of the Bulls: Time honored tradition or animal cruelty? LONG BEACH, Calif. – Peter Martinez, 22, has demonstrated his skills in digital media production since 2004. In his senior year at Los Alamitos High School, Martinez enrolled in a Multimedia Production ROP class where he learned non-linear video editing with Final Cut Pro. He became a star student, producing a weekly newscast called Griffin News. From that point forward, Martinez knew that broadcast journalism is the career he’d like to pursue. California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) was his school of choice.
Martinez was involved at CSUF since his freshman year. As a broadcast journalist, he worked at Titan Communications, the on-campus television studio, where he produced an award-winning newscast called On the Edge. He also produced other programming for the University, and was an on-air correspondent for World Press – a television show that monitors press freedom issues around the world. |
